RULES

RULES

Most of our rules are pretty common sense. Read instructions, be respectful, stay in character, remember that IC=/=OOC, communicate with other players and don't control their character without permission, and you'll be fine here.

Mods will approach people who break the rules to make sure they understand the rule they've broken, what our expectations of them are with regards to future behaviour and the consequences should they fail to meet those expectations.

There are few ways to be banned without multiple offenses. Exceptions to this include: engaging in hate speech, doxxing, physical threats, intentionally misleading others about your identity or communications with the mod team or other players, harassment, ignoring content restrictions, trying to get around lesser punishments, or creating a toxic and/or unsafe environment. Bans are permanent.

We do not pre-ban players, except in extreme cases. We reserve the right to give a player a warning upon entry, depending on the nature and severity of their past actions.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
It should go without saying, but please make sure you read all mod announcements and instructions in full. If you have questions after having read the information provided, please ask them!
BE RESPECTFUL
Do not bully or harass anyone. Avoid combative behavior and communicating OOCly if you are extremely angry. If you overstep, apologize. Do not use public posts to publicly humiliate or belittle other players. If you're having repeat conflict, be civil and inform them you no longer wish to engage.
IC =/= OOC
Do not take IC conflict into OOC frustration, or OOC conflict into IC interactions. Characters do not represent their players, and players should not use their characters to voice their own opinions.
DON'T GODMODE/INFOMODE
Do not use OOC information (including mod-run plot information) that your character has not learned in game. Likewise, do not control the actions or assume the reactions of another player’s character. Do not RP anything that would affect another character or force them into a particular course of action without the player's explicit permission.
STAY IN CHARACTER
Keep your characterization plausible with respect to their core personality as well as the events they experience. On the other side of that, we expect and encourage a character to grow and evolve over time while most likely retaining fundamental characteristics.
STAY ACTIVE
Our activity requirements are fairly relaxed, but we do require players to meet them. Full details of our activity policy can be found on the game's permanent Activity Check page.
USE CONTENT WARNINGS
Use cuts and warnings (e.g., "CW: violence, nsfw") for material unsuitable for children or the workplace. If you're not sure whether your post classifies, see where it would fit according to the MPAA. Additionally, do not post graphic sex for characters mentally or physically younger than 17 years-of-age.
GET MOD APPROVAL
Request mod approval for canon or power updates, and player plots that have enough of an impact on the shared setting that the effects should be noticed by other characters. Such plots include: major property damage, major world-build ramifications, business establishing, and/or the death of any character (even an NPC). Unless explicitly approved by the mod team, imPort powers have no effect on the Porter or its nanites.
COMMUNICATE
Use the FAQ and Mod Contact to ask mods questions. When in doubt, ask rather than making assumptions! When offering feedback, voice your own opinion. Do not quote, speak for or argue with others. For issues, questions, or complaints involving other players, the mod team is willing to help you find solutions should you be unable to resolve them through direct communication.
